Dimension?

Jan 20 at 1:50 PM
Hi all,
Does anyone know if the Extensions can refer to a dimension instead of a measure? And if so what the syntax is. Rather speculatively I tried [dimension].[field name], however this was a bust and I am no SQL expert.

Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, thanks for that. Hoping I can pick your brains further with an example and you can tell me if its even possible?

I am basically trying to assign values to certain words in a dimension field.

Basic syntax that does not work is as follows:

IIF([dimensions].[Colour]="Green",1,0)

Any guidance much appreciated.

Thanks,

Without knowing the names of your dimensions and dimension attributes it is hard to say. Here is a guess assuming your dimension is called Product and your dimension attribute is called Colour:

IIf([Product].[Colour].CurrentMember is [Product].[Colour].&[Green],1,0)

This question is probably better for the SSAS forums since it is a basic MDX question and not specific to my addin:
