deselect a calculated member

Oct 16, 2014 at 3:09 PM
Hi,

I created a calculated member ("var B14") with OLAP PTE and Excel 2010 and formula works well.
name : [Consolidation].[Consolidation].[All].[var B14]
formula : [Consolidation].&[RM_2014]-[Consolidation].&[BM_2014]

But when I want to filter members of the "Consolidation" dimension, I noticed that my calculated member "varB14" was selected by default and I couldn't deselect it. Is it normal ?

Thanks

What version of SSAS do you have? Hopefully AS2008 R2 or later.

If you right click on the PivotTable and choose OLAP PivotTable Extensions and go to the About tab, what "Version of this PivotTable" do you see?

You also might double check the following option is checked... right click on PivotTable... PivotTable Options... Totals & Filters... Evaluate calculated members from OLAP server in filters

Anyway, this blog post gives a little background on how AS2008 R2 and Excel 2010 let you do this:

Unfortunately, we still use AS2005 for the moment :-(
So I understand that I have to wait the AS upgrade (AS2012 is planned normally for the end of the year)

"Version of this PivotTable" : 2010

"Evaluate calculated members from OLAP server in filters" option : not checked but impossible to check
