Hi Team,
There is one urgent requirement where I have to bring in data from the Cube and make some excel reports. This tool will be very handy for that purpose to customize MDX. I am using 32 - bit excel and the latest version of your add-in (OLAP_PivotTable_Extensions_Setup_for_32-bit_Excel_(v0.8.0))

I am getting an error when I am trying to format the MDX. The error says Mouse over to see error. But I didnt get any description when I did so. Request you to provide a solution for this

Yes, unfortunately I found out like the rest of us after the URL changed. The next release of my add-in will point to the new URL. Sorry about the inconvenience in the meantime. You can always manually copy the MDX into the new website and format it that way in the meantime.

On the search tab, I select 'Field List' in the Look in drop down and hit find next...it lists everything...which is perfect. I can even select the item, and copy and paste (ctrl c, ctrl v) the selected item to notepad or whatever. It'd be great if I could select all items so i can paste them or even be able to export the results to a text or csv file.

Any chance on this functionality? Thanks!

Let me start by saying well done.

Our business would like to have the feature to be opposite of the filter list, they want to say keep everything but what is in the list (not sure if MDX likes this type of thing). Also, would it be possible to populate the list with what was entered prior if you did filter. You can look at the MDX and see the items, but the users would like to just see their simple list again.

Reason I'm voting for this is that we're using slicers with Excel 2010/2013. Some of our Dimensions have about 45.000 members. Having to scroll the list is incredibly cumbersome. If I could filter the dimensions members like here a few examples.

*seo*
*sem*
*seattle*

meaning : show only dimension members containing seo, sem and seattle anywhere in the name. That would help us incredibly.

I really want a feauture that saves my filter settings even though the members (temporarily) dont exist in the cube dimension (anymore). Or is there already a way to save the filter settings?

That's odd it's failing. It's using the web service behind the following web page:
http://formatmdx.msftlabs.com/

You might try copying your MDX query into that webpage and having it format it.

Can you still reproduce the error in my add-in? Does it have to do with your networking setup (i.e. proxy servers or blocked websites)?

Thanks Helmut. I'll add that to the list to investigate for a fix in a future release. I'm worried I won't be able to fix it since you're sorting by 2012, and 2012 disappears from the PivotTable when you clear the cache. But I'll plan to either fix it or document this limitation.

The customer has German version of Office 2010 v14.0.4760.1000 32-bit. After installing OLAP PivotTable Extensions and loading an Excel file containing an OLAP PivotTable the clear PivotTable Cache works. But when the rows are touched - expanded and or collapsed, we get the error in the attachement. The cube was created on AS 2008 R2, v10.50.1600 64-bit.

The customer did include the Cube=MyCube; in the connection string and the error did not occur. Any idea why it is not inserted by the code?

Looks correct to me - even the cube name is shown in the Command Text.

Sorry for the delay. I don't have any clue on how to fix the problem. But if you can put Cube=YourCubeName in the connection string, that might be a workaround. If you look at the current connection and look at the Command Text, it will show the cube name. The code that grabs the cube name is OLEDBConnection.CommandText.

If you have other suggestions, I'm open to suggestions.

Currently EXCEL 2010 allows for filtering on member properties, however the Extensions tool does not allow (or not seem to allow) filtering on member properties.

I was hoping for similar functionality to the FILTER tool, which allows the ability to filter on multiple values for MEMBER Properties of a dimension/level.

Created Issue: Trying to clear pivot table cache generates HRESULT:0x800A03EC exception [23443]

When trying to clear pivot table cache it generates HRESULT:0x800A03EC exception and is not able to clear the cache. I have noticed that this happens with more complex pivot tables with several pivot tables on the same sheet or with custom column. See the attached screenshot for the complete error message.

Is this a know issue, and can it be worked around?

I installed the full suite, Outlook as well (which is excellent, by the way ;-)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Bitness says 'x64' (without the quotes)

The other one (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Bitness) doesn't exist.

Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ all I have is a folder called Common with a FilePaths subfolder which holds the location of the Office.odf file.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Bitness

I don't think you have to install Outlook for that registry setting to be there, but can you tell me whether you've installed Outlook 2013 on this machine?

Off the top of my head, I forget whether my installer is looking in the 32-bit or 64-bit registry hive to find that setting. Can you do Start... Run... C:\Windows\regedit.exe and then look in both the above registry path and the 32-bit registry hive:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Bitness

Let me know what you find, please.
