Use Cell or Named Range in MDX Calculation?

Is it possible to use a named range or cell reference in an MDX Calculation?

I have a calculation for the percentage of the year which the Cube doesn't have. I have it as a named range "PercentOfFY". What I'd like to do is use that in some calculations in OLAP Extensions. Didn't see it the discussions so thought I would pose the question.

Unfortunately no. Without some VBA which reads the named range and creates the MDX calculated members to match, no.

One idea you may consider if you have a Multidimensional cube is to have your cube developer enable writeback on a small measure group. That would let you enter data in Excel 2010 or newer and save it to the cube. The calculated measures could read that value after writeback completes.

Thanks for the response. Doubt the team will allow write back. Too scary for them.
